Following the thorough analysis of Portsmouth's demography urban fabric, typology, socio-economics and atmosphere, a significant amount of time was invested in considering the language of the artefact that would be produced.
To retain the project’s thematic consistency, it felt most appropriate to adopt a polemic, and even hyperbolic approach to the attitudes and emotions evoked in the conclusions drawn from the urban exploration and analysis.
As a critical, and to some extent intentionally satirical, artefact was produced: inspired by analysis and the sci-fi culture from the opening blog post.
It presents a bleak future; localized and concentrated urban decay during digital, virtual and technical advancement, depicted by near-complete urban blight.
The solution to this rhetoric the following pages would then justify and propose would be aptly named “the dystopian prevention scheme”.
